TOWER OF BABEL
Reference Scripture:
Genesis 11:6 KJV And the Lord said, Behold, the people is one, and they have all one language; and this they begin to do: and now nothing will be restrained from them, which they have imagined to do.
When you get a chance, I encourage you to read the entire chapter in its entirety for context, but in summary there was a group of people who decided to come together and build a tower and make a name for themselves. They were so united in what they wanted to do that it caught God‘s attention and he said these things about them: that because they were one, nothing could stop them from accomplishing everything that they intended to do.
Three main things I encourage you to look at: they imagined, had one language and began to do. Because of those three things, they were unstoppable.
IMAGINATION: Child of God, when you are quiet and in a room by yourself meditating, what do you see? When you are looking through your mind’s eye, what do you see? The truth of the matter is that you will never get to where your mind has never been. The first thing to doing anything great in your life is you first have to see it in your mind. The mind is where dreams are conceived and given life. At the end of the day, as you think in your hear so are you. Wherever you are today, in some shape of form it crossed your mind before it ever became a reality. Now that is powerful.
ONESS: They spoke one language. How many times in our lives does God give us a vision, he begins to paint a picture of where He intends for us to be but instead of speaking what He is saying we speak doubt, fear, discouragement, disappointment and so on? Let me use healing as an example: say you have got a report from the doctor that you have an illness but the Word of God declares that by His stripes you were healed, what will you declare? Will you declare healing or sickness. Until your mouth begins to align in sincerity with what God is saying, where we say only what he says, we won’t live to the full capacity of what He intends for us. We need to have the same language as our Father. No matter what you are facing today, only say what your father says, confess His word concerning what you may be seeing. No matter what you may see or experience, train your heart and mouth to have the same language concerning what you are going through and just like they did at the Tower of Babel, begin to do!
ACTION: A lot of us do have the vision and confess all day but never step out to do anything. You wonder why Jesus had such a success rate in his ministry? John 5:19-20 says Jesus saw and He did as his father did! He didn’t just sit around all day basking in the power of the Holy Ghost that he had received, he went out and worked. Something I heard a preacher say: the book of acts is called such because the Holy Spirit did the work through the apostles, they didn’t stay in the upper room praying, they eventually stepped out and started to work!
Let God paint a picture in your heart, begin to say what He says no matter what and then at the right time step out and do! Nothing will be able to restrain you.
