VISION AND PURPOSE
HIS PLANS FOR YOU
Scripture Reference: Jeremiah 33:1-3 (AMPC)
"Then the word of the LORD came to Jeremiah the second time, while he was still confined in the court of the guard, saying,“Thus says the LORD who made the earth, the LORD who formed it to establish it—the LORD is His name, ‘Call to Me and I will answer you, and tell you [and even show you] great and mighty things, [things which have been confined and hidden], which you do not know and understand and cannot distinguish.’"
Do you ever wake up and wonder why you were born, what your purpose is? Perhaps are you one of those people who actually knows their purpose in life but are not sure how you are supposed to accomplish it? Their is good news for you. You do not have to wonder through life aimlessly, neither do you have to go at it alone.
From our reference scripture, there are some truths that are very helpful.
In the first verse, the Word of the Lord came to Jeremiah while he was in prison. That is so encouraging if you really pay attention to it. Prison is defined as a building in which people are legally held as a punishment for a crime they have committed or while awaiting trial. As you may know, that may not always be the case. Sometimes innocent people can find themselves in prison for various reasons. In Jeremaiah’s situation, he was in prison because he prophesied the Word of the Lord. As Paul reminds us, at some point in your life, you will face persecution if you live a godly life (2 Timothy 3:12). No matter the prison you find yourself in; be it physical, mental, financial, even if it's self-imposed, God is able to get His Word to you. He has a way to reach you.
In the second verse, God testifies of Himself as the Maker of the universe. In simplest terms, think of it like getting advice on a Tesla from Elon Musk himself.
In verse three, God invites us to call on Him and He promises to answer. He is not planning on ghosting you. He will answer if you call on him. He wants to show you things that you know nothing of, great and mighty things that are not only hidden from you but for you. Not only does He promise to direct you in all your ways but by His truth he wants to lead you into all truth and show you things to come (Proverbs 3:5-6, John 16:13).
You are not on earth by accident. You were in the mind of God before you were even born. God does not waste resources, he had a plan for you even before you were born. I encourage you to pray about it and expect Him to show you.
